Welcome to the official online home for T444!  We have active troops for boys and girls with approximately 75 scouts and a dedicated group of adult leaders.

Our mission is to help scouts learn, develop and grow in a safe, caring environment and to help families bring up moral, civic-minded leaders. We will place the well-being of the scouts ahead of any other considerations and we will respect the needs of our constituent families at all times.

Scout Hut Inventory/Cleanup Sunday 12/8

This Sunday we will meet at the scout hut at 2pm to make sure we have finished prepping chuck boxes and tents and other gear for Winter Camp - but this is open to ALL scouts and adults who want to help. We will have hot cocoa available AND the first 10 scouts to arrive will get a prize! 

Ripley's troop event - Dec. 14 - RSVPs needed

RIPLEY'S EVENT 12/14:  This fun daytime activity for T444 B&G will be held on Saturday, December 14 at Ripley's Believe It Or Not (601 East Palace Parkway, Grand Prarie, TX 75050).
Meet at the Hut on Saturday at 1 pm and we'll arrive at Ripley's around 1:30 pm. We'll return to the Hut between 5-5:30 pm. Cost includes:
  • Entry to Ripley's Believe It Or Not
  • Entry to Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum- and each person gets to make a wax hand to keep
  • Enchanted Mirror Maze
  • 7D Moving Theater
  • Laser Race
  • Snacks, drinks
  • Group photo for each person to keep
Eat lunch before you arrive. Parents, please note if you're willing to help transport youth and if so, how many seats you'd have for Scouts.

Response Needed: Camp/Trip Surveys, Winter Camp, and Recruiting Night

Hello, 444 Families! Hope you're having a good week.

 
Three important items for you to respond to:

- SUMMER CAMP 2025 and TRIPS IN 2026 SURVEY:  We ask that all troop families please take two minutes and fill out this survey about summer camp 2025, as well as two potential trip options in 2026.  This is non-binding, but will give us a quick gauge of interest so we can proceed accordingly. The official summer camp signup will be sent out later this month:
 
 
- WINTER CAMP:  We already have 10 scouts and 5 adults signed up for Winter Camp from Dec. 27-31 at TRJ.  We'd love a few more!  If you're interested, please sign up here ASAP (to ensure you can still get merit badge classes you want):
 
 
- MEET THE TROOPS NIGHT:  Our troops will each host a station at the Meet the Troops Night on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 7-9pm at FUMC Richardson (at the Oliphint Field at 515 Custer Road, across from the church). Students from RISD junior highs are expected to visit us and other troops at this event. Scout volunteers will run the stations and talk with the visiting students. The aim is to give a glimpse of scouting, make everyone feel welcome and encourage them to join.  Scouts are asked to arrive at 6:45pm dressed in Class A uniform. This is a great opportunity to accomplish the First Class rank Requirement 10 (Leadership), and can also be counted as service hour to our district.  We need a good presence, so please consider attending if you are able.

Meet the Troop Night

Our troops, 444B and 444G will each host a station at the Meet the Troop Night on November 20 (WED) 7pm-9pm. Students from Liberty Junior High, Richardson North Junior High and Lake Highlands Middle School are expected to visit us and other troops at this event. Scout volunteers will run the stations and talk with the visiting students. The aim is to give a glimpse of scouting and make everyone feel welcome.

Location: First Center and Oliphint Field, 515 Custer Rd, Richardson, TX 75080 (the parking lot across the street from First United Methodist Church Richardson on Custer Road).

Please arrive at 6:45pm dressed in Class A uniform.

This is a great opportunity for accomplishing the First Class rank Requirement 10 (Leadership). It can also be counted as service hour to our district.
